AFP news agency launches audio licensing for podcasts
AFP, a leading global news agency, is offering a new audio content licensing service for podcast creators: AFP Audio.

Audio producers can now license sounds from AFP’s rights-managed video library of +1.1 million files and real-time production of +100 new stories per day with HD audio, spanning the latest breaking news coverage to historic archive material.

AFP’s award-winning video service has historically provided news footage to TV stations, production companies, digital platforms and other media.  The addition of audio licensing meets increasing demand from podcast creators to use AFP’s reporting in their productions.

“AFP now offers audio productions the same high-quality, verified coverage that our video clients have access to, for which we see an increasing demand” says AFP’s Deputy News Director – Video and Audio, Juliette Hollier-Larousse.

“The coverage produced by our global teams daily offers producers valuable, trustworthy audio content to help tell their stories – whether that’s ambient sounds from cities across the globe, coverage of historic events, or voices from across the planet sharing their stories and unique perspectives in their own words.”

The launch of AFP Audio is the culmination of several years of work and research by a dedicated team at AFP drawn from commercial and editorial departments, which has been examining how the agency can best serve media and content creators operating in the booming audio space.

“Our approach was to get hands-on experience to understand the challenges of those who produce this content on a daily basis” explains Juliette Hollier-Larousse.

As a result, several AFP podcasts were launched including most recently The Poisoning, an AFP documentary podcast on the Navalny saga, andCrossroads France on France’s identity crisis.

This decision to learn by doing, coupled with extensive market research, has allowed the agency to develop a licensing and content offering in line with the needs of podcast creators.

There will be more updates to come for the AFP Audio service this year.  To sign up for alerts, or to find out more about rights-managed, reliable content that is simple to license and use in your podcast, visit AFP’s website here: https://view.afp.com/afp-audio-en/p/1
