Poppy Jay is a podcaster and a director who specialises in music docs, cultural exposé & commentary, observational documentaries, fact-ent and current affairs. She has also worked as a journalist, a producer and used to host her own radio show for the BBC Asian Network. She has fronted a variety of factual content hosting for Vice News, BBC3 and Channel 4’s Dispatches. Her work has seen her do everything from working on a doc about ISIS radicalisation, all the way to hosting the award-winning taboo-busting podcast 'Brown Girls Do It Too' about sex and relationships for BBC Sounds. The eldest of 6 she grew up in a typical Bangladeshi immigrant household on a typical Estate in the East End of London. She credits her siblings and her parents for being the utter gobshite she is.
