Ayeesha Menon writes and presents the India-set podcast, Mumbai Crime.  She is a creator and writer, known for her literary adaptations and whose work in audio has won numerous awards. Her modern-day reworking of Rudyard Kipling’s, The Jungle Book won the BBC Drama Award for Best Adaptation as did her dramatization of Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cites. Her adaptation of Salman Rushdie’s Midnight’s Children won the BBC’s Outstanding Achievement Award. Ayeesha also wrote the script for the acclaimed dramatization of Naguib Mahfouz’s The Cairo Trilogy which starred Hollywood legend Omar Sharif. Ayeesha’s also writes for TV and theatre. Her play, Ramayana Reset was performed at the National Theatre in 2022.
