Cut my teeth in newspapers first as a trainee on my local newspaper in Southport, Merseyside and then on various regional and national newspapers including the Manchester Evening News and the Sun. Joined Granada TV in 1996 and worked on Tonight with Trevor McDonald, first as a producer and then as assistant editor. Joined the BBC as a producer-director in TV current affairs in 2002 where I produced award-winning episodes of Panorama and an ad-hoc documentary for BBC3 called The Story of Bohemian Rhapsody. Joined the BBC Radio Current Affairs department in 2014 where I have edited File on 4, various ad hoc documentaries and podcasts including ‘Gangster – The Story of Paul Massey’, ‘Sports Strangest Crimes – The Trillion Dollar Conman’ and ‘Gangster – the Story of Curtis Warren.’
