Emma Turner

Director of Corporate Affairs , whynow Media

Emma has been working in media for nearly 20 years. She’s currently the Director of Corporate
Affairs at whynow, where she works across events, PR and brand marketing.


Throughout her career Emma has worked on a variety of awards ceremonies, including the PPA
Awards (the Oscars of the magazine industry) and the Historic Motoring Awards, for the classic car
industry. During her time at whynow, she has co-founded the Independent Podcast Awards with
indie podcaster Em McGowan of Verbal Diorama.

Not only does Emma run events herself, she also has responsibility for entering industry awards on
behalf of whynow. Recent successes include wins at both the Webby’s and Lovie’s, and for the
Independent Podcast Awards themselves at the Conference & Event Awards.

Emma has also been a judge a few times, so has a 360 view of awards and how they run.
