From as early as she can remember, Jade Scott has always felt on a quest to seek out insight from new perspectives. One of her earliest audio memories is from her family’s first PC, which had an encyclopaedia programme that would play music from national instruments by clicking on countries around the world. A career in research and development was a natural progression, to continue her passion for finding great stories from fascinating people.
A natural archiver, Jade was drawn to podcasting and as she approached a new decade, began reflecting on the things we are taught to expect from life compared to reality. Deciding it didn’t all add up, the idea behind The Reset was born; a journey through life’s messy middle, activating change and contemplating themes of emotional wellbeing and possibility. Part audio diary, part mixtape manifesto, The Reset is a podcast about learning how to live, amid death and decay.
Jade Scott, Audio Lab creator says: “I didn’t feel there was anything else I could make. This is a personal journey I’ve been on for a few years, accelerated by hitting 30 and entering a new decade. I’ve always been on this search for knowledge, particularly from global perspectives. This podcast is really about centring Black and Brown women in the conversation about wellness and exploring those themes. Life is for living but the living isn’t easy.”
