Jason Bryant
Jason founded Nation Broadcasting in 2001 and has led its transformation from a single radio station investment into the UK’s largest independent commercial radio operator.
With more than 30 years’ experience across radio and media, Jason combines strong commercial and strategic leadership with a forward-looking approach to audience growth, engagement and digital innovation.
Under his leadership, Nation has expanded through licence wins, acquisitions and start-ups, succeeding in an era of industry consolidation and intensifying competition. Today, Nation broadcasts across the UK and has increased its audience and listening hours by 50% over the past 24 months, reaching 1.2 million listeners and generating more than 7.5 million listening hours each week.
Jason began his career in journalism before holding senior roles at the BBC, ITV and LBC. He later became Programme Director at Talk Radio, where he led the station’s transformation into talkSPORT as its launch Managing Director. During this period, he developed the station’s digital growth strategy, secured and launched two of London’s three DAB multiplexes, and negotiated its first live sports rights deals.
Jason also played a key role in shaping Virgin Radio’s brand extension strategy, leading its expansion into DAB and digital radio in the early 2000s. He is a founding investor in Boom Radio.
