Rae Votta
Global Podcast Content Lead,
Netflix
Rae Votta is obsessed with obsession. With degrees in journalism and linguistics, she started her career focused on fan communities, originating social presences for major brands like AOL and Viacom. During her career she's worked on everything from producing YouTube mini-series on safari in Africa to developing official Tumblr flirtations between VH1 and President Obama, complete with organic fanfiction and fan art. After joining Netflix in 2016 she took on social marketing for the award-winning global documentary slate. Through that work she founded Netflix's worldwide audio and podcast strategy, creating award-winning podcasts and increasing downloads by triple-digit percentages year after year. In the podcast space, she's led Netflix in developing podcasts for series like The Crown, diving deep on films like Don't Look Up, and exploring world-building through fictional extensions for Stranger Things. Her passion is developing content that keeps fans engaged and builds brand loyalty, while staying true to what fans actually want out of their content creators and the companies that house them.
