Rebecca Grierson
Rebecca Grierson is an award-winning Executive Producer based in New York, she started her career at the BBC Radio 1 in 2003, via Somethin’ Else (Sony Music) after graduating with a degree in film and documentary-making from Liverpool John Moores University. Rebecca has produced 1000’s of hours of live radio shows and podcasts, working with trailblazers, Gilles Peterson, Damon Albarn, Mary Ann Hobbs, Earth Wind & Fire, Q-Tip, Volker Bertlemann, Sharon Jones, Solange, Seun Kuti, Rosin Murphy, Zane Lowe, and Pharrell. She successfully relaunched ‘The Selector’ for the British Council, devising one of the first UK podcast formats in 2008. For a decade Rebecca worked as a Music Supervisor setting up SixtyFour Music in the US. She has licensed and supervised original music scores and sound design for global brands. In 2022 Rebecca worked as an Executive Producer on ‘Meditative Story’ - a first person narrative show, winning 10 signal awards including GOLD for most inspirational podcast. Rebecca was the Music Supervisor on ‘More Than A Feeling’ (Ten Percent Happier) winning Gold for Best Original Score in 2023. Rebecca set up the Composer database for Free The Work set up by film Director Alma Har’el advocating for underrepresented Composers and changing hiring protocols across Hollywood film studios and global brands, encouraging ‘authentic storytelling’ in audio, film and TV. Rebecca is in development on a new True Crime podcast, a documentary series on Led Zeppelin and a social impact podcast with journalist Ruby Warrington based on her book - ‘Women Without Kids’.
