Scott Melvin co-founded The Overlap alongside Gary Neville in 2021, leveraging his background as CEO of the production company Buzz 16 to build the channel's high-quality, long-form interview format.
As the Lead Executive Director, he has been the strategic engine behind the brand's rapid expansion into new verticals like Stick to Cricket and Stick to Rugby, driving the channel to over 2 billion views.
He was instrumental in the 2026 deal that saw media giant Global acquire a majority stake in the company, and he recently spearheaded the acquisition of major fan channels like The United Stand to scale the network further.
