Before joining Reviewed & Cleared, Sean ran his own specialist media law firm for 16 years, advising a range of television production companies and publishers on pre-publication matters. He worked as a night lawyer for the BBC, The Independent, Sunday Telegraph and Sunday Times.

Between 1985 and 1999 Sean was employed in-house at the BBC as a litigator covering media, employment and commercial matters, and then as a pre-publication adviser. In addition to news output, he was closely involved with drama, documentary and comedy.

Sean trained as a mediator with the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution and mediated on issues ranging from television programme format disputes to local neighbour problems. He lectures on media law within the industry and for educational establishments.
