Simon Clancy

Co-Founder & Executive Producer, Folding Pocket

Simon Clancy is the co-founder and Executive Producer at Folding Pocket. Previously he worked at Radio 4 producing shows such as Loose Ends, Midweek and Archive Hour. He won two Sony Gold Awards as producer of Saturday Live before joining 5 live in 2011, first as producer in charge of the digital network, 5 live Sports Extra, then as Deputy Editor of 5 live Sport, where amongst other things he edited Sports Report. He ran the hugely successful pop up station, Olympics Extra during London 2012 and in 2016 he led the BBC’s editorial production of the Paralympic Games. 

In 2018 he joined JOE and set up a podcast network that included Unfiltered with James O’Brien, Boys Don’t Cry with Russell Kane, and the world’s biggest rugby podcast, House of Rugby. 

After co-founding Folding Pocket in 2020 he produced the multiple award winning Defiance with Michael Johnson for Audible, the ARIA and New York Festivals award winner Moment of Truth for BBC Sounds, and is currently producing The Rabbit Hole Detectives with Richard Coles and Earl Spencer.
