How do you create a successful podcast from prison?
This session will give delegates the opportunity to understand the complexities, challenges and rewards of running a podcast project from inside a prison: From navigating the mindblowing constraints of the prison regime, to the forensic attention to detail required to develop editorial guidelines that safeguard podcast participants as well as listeners. We will look at how an international prison podcast community has developed, and how knowledge harnessed in one territory can inform different prison podcast projects globally. Panellists will share how their own experiences of imprisonment are central to the authenticity of these podcasts, and what it’s like for podcast professionals to set foot inside a jail to kick off a production. We learn how to find the right format, tone and subject matter.
