Beth Rigby is Sky News’ Political Editor. The first woman ever to hold the position, she is a leading face of the channel covering political news from the heart of Westminster and beyond.
Described in the Royal Television Society magazine as the “stand out political broadcaster of our times”, since joining Sky News in 2016 Beth has covered the Brexit referendum, two general elections, the bitter Brexit wars, the Covid pandemic and the ensuing Conservative leadership chaos.
Beth co-anchored Sky’s overnight election coverage in 2019, hosted Sky New’s live SNP leadership debate in 2023, and is a mainstay of the channel’s political programming, including the nightly Politics Hub andNews at Ten.
Straight-talking and razor-sharp, Beth is known for holding politicians to account and offering the viewers clear and relatable analysis.
An award-winning print journalist, Beth was also crowned Political Journalist of the Year at this year's Royal Television Society Awards.
