Dr Ayesha Taylor-Camara

Dr Ayesha Taylor-Camara bridges the gap between academic and media industry research, using her expertise to help brands, marketers, and creators make data- informed decisions. With experience in audience research teams at the BBC, Audible, and Paramount, she supports clients in understanding how their content, marketing, and brand connect with audiences in meaningful ways

She is a Lecturer in Media and Marketing Analytics at City, St George’s University of London, where she teaches the next generation of media professionals how to use research as a tool for innovating the future of media and marketing. Her academic work explores the value of media in people’ everyday lives.

Ayesha is also the co-founder of NerdLxb, a research and events consultancy helping clients, particularly those targeting Black consumers, unlock audience insights that inform content, marketing, and product strategies. Nerdlxb is set to launch the Black British Consumer Index, which provides regular insights about Black British Consumer attitudes, behaviours, and cultural trends. In addition,

Ayesha consults for Sound Insights, an audio-first insights agency that supports creators in crafting must-listen content. Through all her work, Ayesha is passionate about turning research into practical insights and reshaping how audiences are understood, valued, and served across the evolving media landscape.
