Irene Noguchi

Executive Producer, Enterprise Storytelling Unit, NPR

Irene Noguchi is the Executive Producer at National Public Radio (NPR) in charge of audio documentaries and longform storytelling. She leads the Enterprise Storytelling Unit, which includes the talented teams creating Embedded, TED Radio Hour, The Sunday Story from Up First and the Peabody-winning history show Throughline. Recent Embedded series made a splash on the NYT's and The New Yorker's Best Podcasts of 2024 lists, and Vulture's Best of 2025 list. Irene's background covers public radio member stations, digital media, breaking news, live call-in shows, and launching new podcasts. She formerly led the Opinion Audio department at The New York Times, which included The Ezra Klein Show, Kara Swisher's Sway and First Person, and was the Head of Audio at Politico. Prior to that, she co-launched Vox's daily news podcast Today, Explained as its executive producer.
