Lauren Layfield
Lauren has been waking up the nation’s early risers on Capital’s Early Breakfast Show since 2019. She has been a regular reporter for The One Show since 2021, covering a range of topical stories such as NHS pressures and the cost-of-living crisis, but also becoming the go-to-girl for more female-centric issues including spiking, backstreet Botox and cyberflashing.
Last year, she joined the Eurovision family by stepping into Graham Norton’s iconic shoes to become the commentator for Junior Eurovision, bringing her quick wit to all of the action from Armenia, broadcasting live on BBC One.
On 2021’s International Women’s Day, Lauren fronted her first documentary for the flagship brand BBC Newsround. The ground-breaking Let’s Talk About Periods was aimed at dispelling the stigma around menstruation and was nominated for a Royal Television Society Award and a prestigious International Emmy.
Lauren is an ambassador for mental health charity Young Minds and period poverty organisation Bloody Good Period. Her debut teen novel ‘Indi Raye is Totally Faking It’ will be published in August 2023 by Hachette UK.
