Mark Horgan is an award-winning journalist and producer from Dublin and is the founder and co-director of Second Captains, Ireland’s leading podcast production company. He has recently presented, co-produced and co-written the acclaimed BBC Sounds podcast series ‘Stakeknife’.

Horgan’s previous BBC series ‘Where Is George Gibney?’ was one of the most impactful podcasts of 2021, winning some of the biggest accolades in world media, including three golds at the New York Festival awards, Non-Fiction Podcast of the Year at the Banff World Media Festival ‘Rockies’, Moment of the Year at the British Podcast Awards 2021 and a special commendation at the Prix Europa for Radio Investigation of the Year. The series also led to a new police investigation into the disgraced Olympic swimming coach.
