Michael Safi is the presenter of the Guardian’s award-winning daily news podcast, Today in Focus. He has reported for the show from on the ground during the US presidential-election campaign, in Qatar during the men’s football World Cup, and from Lebanon and Syria after the fall of Bashar al-Assad. 

He presented Black Box, a seven-part podcast series about artificial intelligence. 

Michael was previously the Guardian’s south Asia correspondent and an international correspondent based in Beirut.
