Perminder Khatkar
Perminder Khatkar is a multi–award winning journalist and audio producer who has been working for over three decades in the industry. She now runs her own Indie with former colleagues based in the Midlands.
Her career has been shaped predominantly by working at the BBC. With vast experience in long form documentaries and extensive experience in factual and investigative journalism she is now developing long form narrative nonfiction podcasts and documentaries for digital platforms.
She makes programmes that span a wide range of subjects from climate change, falling in love at Blackpool’s Tower Ballroom to dowry deaths. Throughout her career she has focussed on telling stories about the British Asian communities- giving a voice to those whose stories might not be told or are often ignored. She’s also not afraid to uncover and tell those stories others want to bury and hide.
