Branding isn't a logo. A logo isn't cover art. Gurus teach the easy parts of "branding" because it's the only thing that can be learned from Google. But branding is so very much more than anything that you've learned so far and the difference between getting it right and getting it wrong is the difference between success and failure in podcasting. Why? Because podcasting is busier than ever. From branding agency owner to successful podcaster, podcast industry disruptor, and creator of Captivate, I'll teach you what branding really is and how you can make 3 changes TODAY to propel your podcast from average to outstanding and from forgettable to unforgettable.

So, you have your “little” podcast up and running. You are getting positive reactions from those who have listened to it and some people are even asking you when you are going to up the levels cos “everyone should be listening to this” …but how do you go up the gears? Is it all about money? Controversy? Social Media presence? Celebrity guests? This session aims to hear some of the stories from both sides of the fence – from those creators who have gradually built a growing following, to those commissioners who are looking for the next potential big thing.

There’s more to podcasts than spoken word interviews, and monologues — and weaving a music soundtrack throughout your show to help keep listeners engaged with your stories. However, some podcasters may be hesitant to add beats to their content, as they’re worried about where to find the music and the chance of being sued for copyright infringement. To avoid all of this drama, podcasters are now turning to restriction-free music to put the fun back in soundtracking and take their content to the next level. Tom can share how podcasters can use music to add emotion or energy to their stories and dive into examples of podcasts that have grown their audiences by adding music to their content — from U.K. true crime thrillers to Swedish comedy podcasts and more. During this session, Tom and Rebecca will share how to leverage music for storytelling and their experiences with blanket licenses. They will also share how to empower creators and what's ahead for podcasting and the creator economy.

It may sound too simplistic to consider that all forms of content - from a feature length film, to an Instagram reel - start as mere ideas. Ideas scribbled down in a notebook, voice recorded in your phone’s archives or mused over drinks with friends are exactly where our podcasts, books, and films begin. At the London Podcast Show, Jade and Bernard will discuss the fun, creative process of getting ideas down - in whatever medium suits you best - and the “what next?” With some amazing things happening in the ever flourishing audio space, they discuss how you might take an abstract idea and transform it into a treatment for an entire audio experience. So, if you have an excellent idea for a podcast, come and find out what you can do next. Creatives Jade Benn (Merky Books, +44 Presents the Noughties Podcast) and Bernard P Achampong (Unedited) share the steps it takes to create an award-winning story, podcast and documentary… or maybe something else altogether! We look forward to you joining us for a fun and vibrant interactive session at this year's London Podcast Show!
